Potassium iodide occurs as white crystals, very well soluble in water and glycerol, sparingly soluble in ethanol. During electrolysis, the raw material separates into iodine and potassium. The main applications of potassium iodide are found in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. Manufacture of machinery and equipment, vehicles, other means of transport; in products for dyeing, impregnation of paper and cardboard; for the production of adsorbents, inks and toners, washing and cleaning products (solvent-based), photochemical agents, polishing mixtures and waxes; formulation and repackaging of preparations – mixtures (excluding alloys); in scientific research and development; as a laboratory reagent.
